Hagrid in LEGO !
Die hard LEGO fans know it: there already IS a Hagrid in LEGO. A very hughe one even: over 2,3 meters high. So why did Dirk build an other one ?
Becuase Dirk has a special relationship with Hagrid. Not only are his kids die hard Harry Potter fans, even from before the movies were made. But mainly because Dirk IS the voice of Hagrid (and Voldemort and Sirius Black) in the Flemish version of the Harry Potter movies !
Building hagrid was pretty tough. More than 50 hours and over 12.000 bricks of which about 500 spiders...
These spiders do not only emphasize Hagrids woolly hair and beard. They also refer to Hagrid's akward passion for magical creatures. In the second Harry Potter book those creatures are... spiders !
Dirk seems to like himself. He built a picture of his own head in the back of Hagrid's. This picture of course refers to Dirk's being MORE voices in the Harry Potter films: Hagrid, but also Voldemort, who was hidden in the back of one of Harry's teachers, in the first story.
