The Theatre Show
Here you invite the Edgy Engineers to perform their 2 x 45 minutes Standard Theatre Show. A Standard show, yes, but even then flexible and adaptable to your demands. Duration can be changed ("We only need 60 minutes"), and content can be tuned to your needs ("We are a medical congress; couldn't you put something in with medical reference ... ?")
You find a location with theatrelike accommodation (Sound and Lighting Systems), we will do the rest. Or we can even find a nice theatre for you (if in Belgium). Maybe you have your own company location. No problem: if we get in touch in time, we will tell you what we need to turn your seminar room into a theatre !
Our flexilbility has no limits. Some examples:
- We are a company. We have a two-day seminar for our 150 top-co-workers in a hotel, and we need some high quality entertainment after dinner on the first day.
Then The Edgy Engineers will perform a show of about an hour after dinner, in a separate space in the hotel. We'll choose our repertoire in function of your interests. If you are into software, we'll have Bill Gates for you. And if you have Danish co-workers, we'll add the Olson Brothers to our list!
- We
are a company and plan to invite our best clients to our event, in our own facilities.
There will be some food, we've asked Helmut Lotti for some musical entertainment,
and now we want something funny as well.
In that case The Edgy Engineers will propose to play a half-hour show, with quite some references to your business, and knowing Helmut, we might even convince him in doing something together!
Short tailor made intermezzi...
... are typical for company needs. Some examples:
- Our company is celebrating its 10th anniversary. We have invited some politicians and a CEO from a neighbouring firm. But we're afraid all of that will be somewhat boring and we need something to entertain them.
Perfect! Dirk will be seated in the audience and listen carefully to what your speakers have said. Using that information (and having been briefed beforehand) he will then give his funny view on what has been said, using his own voice, or somebody else's... This format is available in Dutch, French and English.
- We have a new year's reception. We're looking for something extra...
Dirk can play some sketches from his repertoire, or give a funny speech about your company, your collegues or products.
Dirk and the well-known Flemish singer Sabien Thiels singing a song written on the occasion of Mayor Seynaeve's retirement (Wevelgem 30-12-2003).
- We are a Union, and we organize a debate. We need somebody to get the heat out a little....
Dirk can intervene every 20 minutes to give his view on the debates, this way unmining the atmosphere (Dutch, English, French)
In Concert...
... is ideal for bigger events.
- We have a huge company event and we're looking for entertainment. We have French speaking, English speaking and German speaking co-workers.
The Edgy Engineers will then invite their fellow musicians to perform a concert with songs in many languages. Parodies form Ramazotti over Joe Cocker to Khaled, The Olson Brothers or father and son Iglesias. (See also "Other languages")
Other languages ...
... are no problem. Well, it depends, of course.
Dirk is fluent in Dutch, English and French, and has a repertoire in Danish,
Spanish and (February 2005) German. Italian and Swedish versions are underway
(winter 2006)
Moreover, it is nice that combined shows in a mixture of these languages are
possible. Some examples:
- I represented a company and we have an event with our 200 key accounts from all over Europe.
In this case The Edgy Engineers will perform a show with English sketches, and singing songs in French, Danish, Italian and so on... in between. Depending on your audience, of course.
- I represent a European Institution and I have a seminar for our co-workers. Most of our employees are French-speaking, but we have some Italians as well. In daily life we always speak English.
Then The Edgy Engineers will perform the English version of their show, adding some sketches in French and songs in Italian.
- I organize a Belgian week in Copenhagen.
Then a mixed Danish-English show of about 45 minutes looks ideal.
- I'm organizing a trade mission to Dublin with both Belgian and Irish business people. We're staying overnight in a hotel and want to offer something "Belgian" to our hosts.

Outside Belgium...

The Edgy Engineers are more than glad to come over, of course. If one has shows
available in about 6 languages, then one does want to play them outside one's
own country, right?
We have special terms for Flemish and Belgian Clubs abroad. They can of course
very much appreciate to have an evening of high quality comedy, with parodies
on about every interesting Belgian politician and singer they remember from
when they still lived in Belgium. Just
